About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
About the role:
This senior role sits at the heart of Linklaters' UK Business Development and Marketing function. As Events Senior Manager, you will lead our UK events programme, delivering high impact, client‑centric events that support firm, client and sector strategies. You will own end‑to‑end planning, budgeting, logistics and evaluation, working closely with the Marketing Centre of Excellence, Linklaters Global Solutions and colleagues across our global network. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, UK, you will lead a high‑performing local events team and act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, helping to strengthen client relationships and reinforce the firm's brand.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Take overall responsibility for the delivery of events in the UK, across a variety of formats (flagship conferences, client receptions, thought leadership events and bespoke client programmes).
Lead the planning and execution of high impact, client‑centric events that align with firm, client and sector strategies, as well as global and regional marketing priorities.
Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines and resource allocation, including end‑to‑end logistics and contingency planning to ensure seamless delivery.
Ensure all events are compliant with firm‑wide policies and branding guidelines.
Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including client attendance, registration, engagement and feedback, and translate insights into recommendations to enhance future events.
Work collaboratively with marketing colleagues in other countries to share best practice and drive consistency and efficiency across events globally.
Partner closely with events support in Linklaters Global Solutions (LGS) to coordinate support for UK events and, where relevant, global events.
Ensure key firm leaders are appropriately briefed on upcoming events in their areas of focus.
Lead and develop a high‑performing local events team, setting clear goals and providing guidance, coaching and support to enhance performance and capability.
We are ideally looking for:
Significant experience in events management, ideally gained in a professional services or corporate environment.
A strong track record of planning and delivering high quality industry events from conception to execution, with a clear focus on client engagement and experience.
Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation and building strategic external partnerships to support event delivery.
Proven ability to develop and manage comprehensive event budgets, timelines and project plans.
Experience creating and executing targeted event marketing that drives attendance and meaningful engagement.
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data‑driven insights to track event KPIs and refine future event strategies.
Experience in contingency planning and troubleshooting logistical challenges in a calm and effective way.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross‑functionally and collaborating with regional and global teams.
This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
