Position Title: International Event Programmer - Legal
Reports to: VP, Global Awards

Position Summary
ABOUT THE TEAM: The ALM Global Events Team successfully executes 30+ Conferences and Awards programs globally each year. Events vary in size from Awards programs for 100 attendees to our largest event, Legalweek, which hosts over 7,000 attendees. The International Event Programmer will be responsible for producing the content presented at the International conferences and building new initiatives in order to grow this portfolio.
A successful candidate will be a flexible, personable, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work both collaboratively and independently. A key member of the team, this role is reliant on interactions with the Marketing, Sales, Memberships and Operations teams. Responsibilities
Develop event content and assume full responsibility for all aspects of agenda production (research, Advisory Board management, copy writing, speaker recruitment, onsite flow etc.) for assigned International Legal events. The role manages and oversees assigned event programming throughout its entire lifecycle, which includes, but is not limited to:
Independent research on event themes, current news, potential event locations and potential speakers
Nurture and expand an advisory network and work extensively with Law.com editorial and industry associations to form the core messaging for event
Develop database of subject matter experts and target and secure high-level speakers, keynotes and panelists
Coordinate with speakers by participating in panel calls
Aid the Sales team by identifying potential sponsors and working together to close deals
Collaborate with Marketing to create messaging and identify audience targets
Manage onsite content delivery, overseeing all track sessions, keynotes, plenaries and others forms of in-person content
Working knowledge of AV specs and best practices for content delivery
Ability to moderate on-stage sessions if and when needed
Contribute to the growth of the International conferences portfolio through identifying key trends and opportunities
Travel to events to manage onsite speaker and content activities
Qualifications
2-3 years’ experience developing conference content and speaker recruitment.
Experience in executive speaker outreach through traditional and social media channels
Highly developed sense of customer service, relationship building, and problem solving
Strong copy writing and proofreading expertise
Professional demeanor, superior communication and presentation skills
Ability to gather, organize, and summarize large volumes of data
Organised and able to work to deadlines
Knowledge of legal industry a plus
